One of our founder grew up playing soccer and for the past two years, he has been coaching children in the community. It’s been incredibly rewarding to witness the transformation of kids who initially wouldn’t leave their parents’ side on the soccer field. Over time and through consistent practice, Kodjo has seen these children evolve from hesitant beginners to confident players who score goals and contribute actively to their teams.
The experience of coaching has shown him the profound impact that patience and encouragement can have on young athletes. Many of the children he work with start with basic skills, struggling with simple tasks like dribbling or passing. However, as they persist and receive guidance, their abilities steadily improve. It’s fulfilling to witness their growth not just in soccer skills, but also in their self-belief and determination.
One of the most fulfilling moments as a coach is seeing the joy on a child’s face when they achieve something they once thought was impossible. Whether it’s mastering a new technique or scoring their first goal, these milestones are not just about athletic achievement but also about building confidence and resilience that extend beyond the soccer field.
We strive to foster a sense of teamwork and camaraderie among the players, encouraging them to support each other and work together towards common goals. This aspect of coaching goes beyond teaching soccer skills; it’s about instilling values of cooperation and respect that will serve them well in all areas of their lives. It’s a privilege to play a role in shaping the athletic and personal development of these young players, and we look forward to continuing to support and inspire them on their soccer journey.
Since 2015, our organization has emerged to address the sub-par education and sub-optimal living conditions in local communities. The Habitat and Education Promotion organization embarked on a mission to empower these communities by providing tools that not only enhance education but also promote children’s participation in sports activities.
- Facilitate and mentor children in their teamwork endeavors
- Guide and encourage children in participating in disciplined activities
- Inspire and lead children to build resilience
